vienna fashion week / saturday

so this was a pretty busy weekend my friends. on saturday my absolute highlight was LENA HOSCHEK's show. but we'll talk aubout this later.
the fashion week was officially sold out on saturday, which was kinda surprising to me. i guess people start to care about fashion a little more and it was good to see that austrian designers could display their skills in surprisingly professional shows. the "FASHIONZELT" itself, a tent in front of museumsquarter, seemed to be too small for the big number of people who wanted to join the event. in the vip area one could see a bunch of wannabe celebrities but also a lot af nicely dressed guys and gals who really did a good job styling themselves and looking good. free champaign was served and i guess everybody was having a blast. entering "Fashionzelt" wasn't that easy. Lines of people waiting in the pouring rain to get in and just a small uncontrolles entrance for press and vips. my friend kevin got me into the shows with a press ticket, resulting in front row seats at a show by EMIL COUTURE. his dresses were not really exciting. i would call them boring and they were poorly manufactured. i guess it's ok to show pics of stuff i don't like that much so you can get an impression of what i like or dislike. here are some pics of the show---------------only 4 so you don't get bored....on the last picture on the left you can see my arms holding my Blackberry, trying to find out why the dresses where so poorly sewn...

LENA HOSCHEK's show was great....i mean great for an austrian fashion show. rocking out to some good old school punk rock, the models presented a collection mixing up genres like punk and fifties style. honestly i don't know why the models had to wear them ugly wigs, i guess i could have gotten better ones at a nearby grocery store....i like the mixture of the mentioned styles a lot. the really feminine cut makes the collection a wearable one, not only for girls with model sizes...

here's an impression of the packed FASHION ZELT...and HOSCHEK rockin'

i'll post some random pics that i took with my blackberry every now and then to keep you entertained.

Vienna Fashion Week 2010

so this year's fashion week in vienna had a fulminant kick off yesterday. austrian "celebrities" rushed the red carpet, looking like businessmen and -women from a lower developed country.
it's a shame that creativeness and effort by numerous people who helped to create the event are crushed by people who attend a fashion show in a faded, oversized business suit.

vienna is a great city with a handful of creative and bright minded people but unfortunately these people are a minority. i just can't understand the fact that people who don't even know how to lace their shoes are invited to such an event.

stay tuned to check out some pictures from this year's event. personally i'm looking forward to LENA HOSCHEK'S show this saturday. keep your fingers crossed that her good work doesn't get ruined by wannabe fashionistas.
